Exploring Cognitive Potential with the CAS Test and PASS Cognitive Intervention Program (for ages 5-17)

CAS (Cognitive Assessment System) Test

The CAS (Cognitive Assessment System) Test is a scientific assessment tool designed to measure individuals' cognitive abilities, focusing on four core cognitive processes: attention, planning, simultaneous processing, and sequential processing. At Elise Psychology, we utilize the CAS test to deeply analyze individuals' mental processes, identify the sources of challenges in academic and social life, and provide tailored solutions.

Who is the CAS Test for?

This test is specifically designed for children and adolescents aged 5-17. It is particularly effective in understanding issues such as attention difficulties and learning challenges. Additionally, the CAS test is used to support the cognitive development of children and youth. By identifying the strengths and weaknesses of an individual, the CAS test enables us to design a personalized cognitive intervention program.

Structure of the CAS Test

The CAS test is divided into 12 subcategories, each evaluating different cognitive abilities:

  1. Planning: Assesses the ability to develop strategies, solve problems, and make decisions.

  2. Attention: Evaluates the ability to maintain focus on relevant stimuli while filtering out unnecessary ones.

  3. Simultaneous Processing: Measures the ability to process different pieces of information simultaneously and understand logical relationships.

  4. Sequential Processing: Assesses the ability to recall and organize information in order.

  5. Verbal-Spatial Integration: Evaluates the ability to combine verbal and visual information.

  6. Verbal Comprehension: Assesses the ability to interpret verbal stimuli and use them in relational contexts.

  7. Verbal Coding: Facilitates the learning and recall of verbal information.

  8. Numerical Sequencing: Measures the ability to recall and process numerical information in order.

  9. Verbal Timing: Assesses the accurate processing of verbal information within a time sequence.

  10. Visual-Shape Perception: Evaluates the ability to analyze and interpret visual information.

  11. Perceptual Agility: Measures the ability to quickly respond to and process visual stimuli.

  12. Logical Sequencing: Assesses the ability to organize information logically and establish causal relationships.

Benefits of the CAS Test

The data obtained from the CAS test not only helps us understand an individual’s academic performance but also provides insight into the cognitive challenges they face in daily life. This enables us to develop more effective learning strategies and create cognitive intervention programs that maximize an individual’s potential.

Our Approach at Elise Psychology
